Hope

This early morning, I started my day by praying with a friend over Skype.
We started this prayer habit together early last week, and it's been refreshing and encouraging for me!
Personally, I'm not confident when it comes to praying with another being.
In fact, I have never really prayed willingly with someone else.
So this is a good start!

This post is a compilation of songs which I find very hopeful and inspiring.
Today's prayer list consisted of a repeated name of a person we prayed for recently.
It's someone we hold our concerns for and that someone may have gone further away in faith.

Anyways, I know I wrote a post some time early last year which included the same songs.
But I truly think it's worth writing and sharing about again, so yeah!

So this can be like a playlist that matches up with your feelings.

Here goes, all these songs are by the inspiring and absolutely heart-warming, Tenth Avenue North!

The Struggle

when/what you're feeling: You are struggling with something - whether it be temptations, faith, poverty, depression, loneliness and need hope.

By your side

what/when you're feeling: lonely, hopeless, lifeless, meaningless, confused, doubtful - and when you need to hear what God has to say.

Worn

what/when you're feeling: tired, burdened, worn out, used - when you feel like giving up

Times

what/when you're feeling: guilty, sad, doubtful, pain- like you need to tell God how you feel, and when you need his assurance and grace

Hold my heart

what/when you're feeling: tired of waiting, heartbroken, doubtful - when you need to just vent out to God and hear Him and how real He is.

Empty my hands

what/when you're feeling: empty and yet burdened at the same time; trapped, tired.. when you have a handful and distracted.

Beloved

what/when you're feeling: unloved, guilty, undeserving, like you need to hear what God has to say

Let it go

what/when you're feeling: prideful - when you need answers

Love is here

what/when you're feeling: hungry, tired, lonely, hopeless, unloved

Any other way

what/when you're feeling: heartbroken, in pain, okay - when you need to hear what God has to say about your circumstances and feelings

Happy Listening! :)

Blog Challenge: Likes and Dislikes

Hello Marshmallowsssss :D

Truth be told, I like and dislike many things.
And since I've made a blogpost on 100 things I like
I'll try to think of 3 things I really really like, and 3 things I really dislike;
and elaborate on them :)

I like deep talks. I dislike (pointless, typical) small talk.

As much of an extrovert people think i am, I realized I tend to have preferences and habits regarding communication.
About a few days ago, a friend of mine said this.

"Hey Chelsea"
'Hey, yes?'
"Ermm i know you don't like this sort of thing like asking how you are and stuff
But is it ok to ask??"

And I kinda laughed. So I opened up to the conversation and said

'Haha :)
It's not that I don't like it
I just find small talk pointless
But once every now and then, should be fine.
Im okay :) And you?'

So truthfully, it's very rare to find me starting a conversation first.
Because I wouldn't unless I have a reason to.
And need I explain, if you've been in a heart to heart conversation with me,
I really like topics regarding relationship, values, finance, past experiences, beauty, fitness, things that make people generally better or worse, etc.
Pretty much topics that leave my heart thumping, mind thinking, ears open, eyes gazing and life-changing.

And I tend to not be so interested in conversations that end up with "I'm fine, and you?"
Or "nothing much, you?"

I like water, I dislike soft drinks.

A year+ ago at Lucy's Kitchen
If you've dined with me before, you'd know that I really love my water.
Like seriously, I really love water.
And as a kid, I've never been the type to indulge in junk foods; instead, I loved my carbs, meat and water.
And almost everywhere I go, I order water.
Most people think I'm healthy or just ordering it for the sake of thirst.
But I really do enjoy drinking water somehow. haha.
However, apart from water, I like Soyamilk, Green tea, and milkshakes!
OH, and at times, iced milo, honey green tea from yoyo or something like such.

BUT. It's very rare to find me ordering soft drinks.
Because I dislike the taste of coke, pepsi, Sprite, 100+, etc.
ESPECIALLY FANTA. yuck.

I like dancing!

Probably about 4 years ago with the girls at PCBC :)
Love Feast 1

3 years ago with a group of our youths! :D Performing Reconciliation

For Love Feast 2

About 1 year + ago with the girls at SIB Likas, for Powerhouse's 10th yr anniversary.

Sooooo I actually really like dancing!
I never really attended any dancing classes or what not..
But I admire girls who can dance, and I enjoy dancing!

My very first experiences of really dancing and performing, was when I was 12.
I performed with a small group of girls to the song Disturbia for our class assembly.
I was probably so clueless and all, but I really enjoyed it!
And when I was 13 and 14, I danced with a few other girls to the exact same song,
 but for different school events.

The other dance performances I participated in were in church.
The first one was for the first love feast I attended;
A group of us did a dance to a Christian song.

The second was for the second love feast;
It was like a dance-drama, which I really enjoyed!
I got the lead part, and it was a great experience.

And the last dance production I was in was the start of last year;
I did a hip-hop mix kinda dance with the C.A.T.S crew.
They were really talented, and like the others, I had fun!

So dancing isn't actually a talent/gift for me.
But probably a hidden passion? HAHA. I would like to learn HipHop after my exams though!
FunFact: I wanted to learn Ballet when I was younger but my parents didn't let me :(

I dislike sports with a lot of foot skills

As a kid, I was pretty active.
I loved to participate in activities and all.
And as a pre-teen, my favourite sports/activities to play were dodgeball, flags and basketball.
HAHA btw just because I liked basketball then, doesn't mean I was good at it ^.^'
I just liked it for the fun of it; but put me in a real game, and I'd probably hate it.

But as I grew older, I tend to lean towards sports which are more idk, passive?
So I enjoy badminton and captainball.

One sport I absolutely am sure I dislike is.. football.
I know, I'm sorry you soccer fans.
But I am definitely bad with my foot.
Like I've played futsal, I broke my toenail. AND I WAS WEARING SHOES T.T
And somehow, I really suck at kicking a ball with my foot.

I mean people say to kick it with like the sides of your foot or something,
but I feel more comfortable kicking with like the top of my foot.
And Idk, soccer just isn't for me I guess :X

I'm sorry, I couldn't find a photo with my vivid face. But this was my basketball team!

And the usual SIB LIKAS group for Captainball! About a year + ago! :)

And that sums up 3 likes and dislikes! :D

Turning Seventeen

So I'm 17! and I got seventeen friends of mine to ask me seventeen questions for this post;

1. If you had the chance to time travel into the past and meet your past self just so you can tell them about how you became to be, at what year would you go back to and what would you tell them?

- 2009, I would tell my old self that I've grown to become stronger emotionally and mentally, grown to have attained a better self-esteem and that my character and personality is determined partly by my experiences.

2. Before you leave Malaysia, who do you want to see and talk to? - you can only pick one person.

- I would want to see and talk to um.. him again.

3. What's your first thought on turning 17? :3

- one more year to go and I'm 18! Yaaaay

4. What is the top 3 best thing that has ever happened to you? :) In full details!

- The opportunity to move/change. I think that is the best thing that has ever happened to me, to have the privilege of migrating to KL, New Zealand, and back to KK. Because throughout this journey, I can see how God has blessed me so abundantly.

Relationships. They have a different joy and pain in every single one, but most importantly, they (the experience) become part of who you are along this journey.

puberty HAHAHHA

5. How amazing is your life so far?

- So far, pretty amazing.

6. If you have three wishes, what would it be?

- To be able to pass with all A* in my O levels. To keep every good friend I've ever made. To be able to be slim even while having all the food I would ever crave for.

7. How do you feel celebrating your birthday in Malaysia and not in New Zealand with your close friends?

- I'm not sad, but I kinda expected myself spending my seventeen with someone that means something, a bestfriend perhaps.

8. If you could have anything in the world or live someone's life, what would you pick? That includes being older or time travel or anything is possible.

- HMMMM, anything? Infinite money

9. What/where do you think you'll be like/at, at 18?

- At 18, I hope to see myself as someone really smart and hard-working, pretty and skinny (LOL), Godly, probably with a good sense of humour and influential. I hope to see myself ready to leave my current place, to somewhere I can start a new journey.

10. Best gift your future boyfriend can give you?

- To bring me to another level with God; to help me love God more and experience that love together.

11. If you could go back in time and re-live one moment, when will you want to go back to and why?

- Gee. This is tough. Either a few months back, where life was revolving around love. Because I actually miss people.

12. If there was something in life that you wish others would see the same way as you, what would it be?

- Probably the way people treat others. I think that they should treat others the way they wish to be treated; and with respect, kindness and more appreciation. And how bullying is a big matter, and shouldn't be taken so lightly.

13. In your twenties, what do you wish to become?

- early twenties, I wish to become someone's girlfriend. haha and mid twenties, I wish to become a MRS someone and a lovely mother.

14. To what extend do you agree/disagree with human equal rights?

- I agree that everyone should be treated with respect and equality. However, I don't support human rights that goes against principles from the bible; such as gay marriages. God loves the people, but it's their actions that are not right. So to a certain extend, I agree and disagree with human equal rights.

15. In your own words, define "LOVE"

Hm, in MY own words. I would say love is a feeling and a choice. It is something that can be developed, and something that is set upon as a choice. Love can be a feeling, in the sense where people use it to describe how they feel towards someone; and love is a choice, because it's not forced upon anybody, and it's a decision one has to make.

16. What is the most difficult thing you have ever been through?

The most difficult thing? I would say um, is that phase of being insecure. When I had to face a lot of anonymous hate, and to deal with accepting my flaws.

17. How do I define friendship?

Friendship. Um, it is something I don't take lightly. I didn't use to consider many people as my "friend" because I think it takes someone to actually truly be a friend. I think friendship has to be mutual, where both sides feel that the other actually means something? And friendship is only possible if both people agree to be friends. Friendship has to have the basic foundation of being able to communicate, the ability to develop trust and relation. Because if a 'friendship' is just a hi-bye thing, and doesn't have any room for connecting, then it's just called acquaintance.

Goodbye 2012

Good day last day of twenty-twelve!

Honestly, 2012 has been such an eventful year for me! I spent my first half of the year in my beloved New Zealand, and the other half of 2012 - migrating back to my home-town! I honestly believe that 2012 is a year that was filled with love, change, trials, and reunion.

I think it's such a blessing that I got the chance to live in New Zealand for almost 5 years, and returning back to my hometown after 10 years! It's such a life-changing experience for me this year. I can honestly say it's my favourite year out of my sixteen years of being alive.

I have met so many people that have impacted me in many different ways, and have changed with so any along the way. For the first half of the year (in New Zealand) I got to be closer friends with people such as Kenny, Charles, Samantha and Jason. Had the chance to re-unite with my older friends whom I kinda stopped becoming friends with, such as Winnie and Sandra. And I got to meet new people, and got to know some people from my year a bit better (Hui Ling, Lily, Matthew, James, Jacky, Sahil, Jackson, etc).

I really enjoyed this year, and am very happy and blessed to be able to meet and be friends with these people. I'm also very thankful that I am still friends with many of my closest friends from intermediate, it's kinda like childhood friends, and they all mean so much to me.

I cannot be much happier being bestfriends with these girlies for such a long time! Katie, Helen, Steph, Bertha and Vibha! They all play such a huge role in my life; supporting me and constantly being there with me. And my youth in New Zealand, Krave. You guys are such a big part in my life! Thankyou to my leaders, Pauline, Mark, Isaac and Venus for looking out for me :) I miss youth! And I can't wait to be back.

The second half of my year (migrating back to Malaysia) - I got to meet many different and amazing people. I didn't use to like Malaysians (even though I am one myself). But I feel so silly to have felt that way. I mean the people here are so friendly and amazing, I really do love it here.

During my time here, I've met 3 super awesome people that never fail to make me happy. Marcus, Elve and John. I turn to them in everything, and they're the best people I know here. They make my life so so much happier, and I'm honestly really happy God has blessed me with such amazing people.

Along the way, I am very glad that I got to re-unite back with my best cousins Sheena and Sheleen, every moment with them is such a joy and I just miss being with them! Also having friends like Nath, Sasha, Aaron, the Hengs, and Kimberly; They all have played a big part in making me feel welcome. And I'm really thankful for my school friends, How uei, Hao jie, Natalie, Seulki, Foo, Isaac; They all have been really good friends to me during my time in school and outside of school.

So I really am thankful to God that he has blessed me so much, and that I could look at this change as a blessing, instead of something bad. He is truly amazing!

I look forward in spending 2013 with all these people in my life - both in New Zealand and Malaysia.

Thankyou God for blessing me abundantly! And Everyone that surrounds me, you guys are amazing! Have a blessed New Year, and have a positive year ahead of you! :)
