Blog Challenge: Something for my kids to know

haaaaaaallowwwwwwwww.

So my last proper entry (excluding the diary writing stuff ) was almost two weeks ago.
Exams started around then, so figured I'd take it slow on the blogging.

Is it just me, or is time passing really quickly?
Just a few months back, I was so unprepared for my exams.
And now, I'm only a few days left for my last paper..
and. then. I. am. free. 'till. college.
I'll be taking 1/2 a year break! (yaaaaay?)

Moving on, I actually started this post last week.
But due to events popping up, I had to postpone it.

Anyways, since today, I'm gonna be blogging about kids - my kids.
Wait, my soon to be - no, my future kids?

Okay. Just about what I would like my kids in the future to know;
I came across this video last week.
It's about this Godly you-tuber (and now father) writing a letter to his newborn daughter!
CLICK ME TO WATCH AND MELT

I watched it, and I don't know, I thought it was sweet and I teared up and all.
But it(my tear(s)) didn't shed or anything. Don't worry. No tissues were wasted.
*I'm so lame #sorrynotsorry

Okay I'll stop.

So here's to my kid(s).

Hey kiddo/darling/personal nickname

I love you, tons..
I loved the thought of you when I was a child.
I loved the thought of you as I grew to be a woman. (lol)
And before I met you, I already fell in love with you for these two reasons;

I love you because you're the product of your father and I.
I love your father, and I love who I am.
The thought of having you as a combination of both of us is unimaginable, fascinating and amazing.

In addition to that, there's also you.
A part that is your own individuality, that may not come from either your father or I.
And that's special. That makes you, you.
And I love you.

Beyond my love, there's someone who loves you more.
Someone who loves you unconditionally and is capable of displaying it more than anyone.
His name is Jesus.

He is my God, He is King of Kings and He is sovereign.
He's majestic, humble, gentle, loving and generous.
He is faithful, He is pure, everything good comes from Him.
And that, of course, includes you. :]

He thought of you before I did.
He has better plans for you compared to mine.
And He knows who you are, more than I alone can ever know.

He is the greatest gift, and He is the giver.

I want you to know that you are fearfully and wonderfully made in His image.
You are lovely the way you are.
And the thought of you brings a smile to His face.
Your existence alone is pleasing to Him.

Everything you are is from Him, and with everything, you can glorify His name.

In this life, you'll come across challenges and trials.
You'll face nothingness, boredom and passive circumstances.
You'll triumph, overcome and succeed.
And throughout all these, you have Him - Jesus, with you.

He is faithful. He will never leave you nor forsake you.
And the best thing about it, is that you already have Him.
You don't need to earn His love or salvation.
He gave it to you freely.

So with all confidence, I know you'll walk this path of life with a great purpose.
And I'll be there by your side, with dad.

Together, we'll love you with every bit of love God has imparted in us.
I'll always cheer you on, I'll be here for you in your darkest and brightest days.

You're awesome, beautiful and wonderful.

Love, mum. x

Blog Challenge: Best advice

Rawr. HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAI.

Honestly, I have not received an advice worth titling as "The Best".
Well, actually, it's either that or I just can't remember.
So the only advice(s) that came to mind is:

"If you fail to plan, you plan to fail."

//

"Delay gratification."

one or the other, you pick.

Both were advised by my dad - ha. I don't know the real quot-er(?) though, so yeah.

Sorry for that quality
I'd say the first one applies to me more, just because I'm a complete planner-kinda person.
Like, I am not a spontaneous person. I guess I could come up with things on the spot, but I'd rather not.
I love writing things down. Like I like planning my monthly and weekly goals, my finances, mark my fitness attendance, state my meals, check for coming events, etc.
Perhaps, I would do a separate blogpost on planning.

HAHA. It's kinda like a hobby/interest/obsession/habit; my sister said this the other day:
"I've never seen someone plan so much before."
I'm sure it wasn't a compliment, apparently that's all she sees me do during my study hours.

BUT SERIOUSLY.
I would love diary planners/organizers/anything to do with planning/organizing as gifts.
Like, yeah. An obsession it is.

Delay your gratifications is a quote used too frequently by my dad, especially regarding studies and finances.
Oh, wanna go out?
"CHELLLLL, have you heard of the quote delay gratification?"
Wanna buy more things?
"Chellllll, have you heard of delay gratification?"

Yeah...
I believe in delaying gratifications... to a certain extent.
I mean it's important to manage your priorities and to have self-control.
However, you can't always use it as your life motto.

This is how I see it.

*high-school
Delay gratification Chel! Study hard so you can get into uni.
*gets into uni
Delay gratification Chel! Study hard to get a degree.
*gets out of uni with a degree
Delay gratification Chel! Go find a job
*Finds a job
Delay gratification Chel! Find a man to marry
*Gets married
Delay gratification Chel! Have kids
*Have Kids
*Delay gratification Chel! Work hard for your kids

And nek minnit, you'll be old and wrinkly and there's like nothing to look forward to.

I mean yes, in all those stages, delay your gratifications to a certain extent.
But don't postpone everything far down the line, or you'd just miss your chance.

You'll always have something coming up, so I think learning to balance your priorities is a good skill to have.

Anywaaaaays, exams in a week + !
EEP. Shall blog in a bit :D

Blog Challenge : 5 places I want to visit

Hi there!

Have you ever asked/answered someone where they'd like to go for honeymoon?
I happen to have been in a few conversations, being both the one who asked and answered.
And is it just me, or does it get a bit awkward and feel intentional when somehow you both happen to state the same places for honeymoon- especially if the person is not in the friend zone?
no? Just me? 'cause I think I'm not gonna ask someone that again.

It's like;
"So, if you had to pick 3 places to go for honeymoon, where would you go?"
"Hm, France, uh Paris?"
"Ooh, really? But Paris is actually mostly sight-seeing and for oldies. I mean, it's called the city of love, but I don't think it's like yaknow the ideal for newlyweds..?"
"Oh... really? Hm.. and you?"
"Probably America,"
"Oh my gosh, hi-five! I'd like to go to America too."

(Okay, understood. America has amazing shopping, food, everythaanggg - or so it seems. So I'll let this pass to be coincidentally acceptable)

"And the last?"
"Hm.. probably Hawaii or something.."
"OOOH, yeah! Tahiti or BoraBora would be nice. They have like those see-through windows on the floor of your resort house? Like yaknow, ain't that lovely... yaknow, like I mean.."
"yeah! .. Well like, yeahh... it's good for honeymoons.."

And then this is when it gets kinda awks, 'cause now I'm either thinking:

Hey maybe I'll happen to see you and your newlywed spouse being all romantic and all there, in a really romantic island where it's all about being physically affectionate and all. yaknow yaknow yaknooooow?

or

it kinda sounds to me like I'll be your newly wed spouse yaknow, yaknow, yaknooow.

yeah..

Yeah, let's not go on.

5 places I want to visit:

(currently - as of April, 2014)

1. Tokyo, Japan

I'm sure you'd know by now, my favourite type of food is indeed Japanese.
However, as much as Japanese food tastes brilliant in other countries not of its origin,
there's something about eating authentic Japanese food from Japan.

Being an Asian myself, there's somehow a peculiar concept about other Asian cultures that I find I'd never be accustomed to. Like I love Asian countries, they seem to have a similarity in all of them, yet, so distinctive from one another.

Japan is known to have a crazy sense of fashion; Like everyone there is probably so into style it'd be interesting to see. I heard that they are really loyal and well-mannered people aswell! Food would be amazingggggg, I bet. So Japan definitely made it to my list of places I'd want to visit.

2. Seoul, Korea

Now, I've considered Koreans to be a super race.
I mean like Korean celebrities look beautiful, they are all literally clones of each other.
Almost all of them have a similar ideal body type: tall and slim in the right kinda way.
Like all of them - by them, I mean celebrities; They seem to have the exact pair of legs!
They seem to be talented and smart, acquiring perfect faces and hair, etc.
IDK. But I've considered about them being a super-race.

Like woah, their food is freaking delicious.
It seems as if all Korean mummies are born make the yummiest food.
And have I mentioned, their korean dramas make such an international impact.
And Korean style is just so classy, and fashionable.
What's there not to like?

Like Korean culture is just so lovable.

However, the celebrities are to thank, as they are the ones who set a huge part of that.
oh, and the food. defo the food.

3. NYC, America

AMERICAAAAA, like The country.
Seriously. Anything and everything, or most things at least, seem to begin from America.
I mean, America has everything, no?

Shopping, food, lifestyle, you name it.
I look forward to all of that, so America, a must go.

4. Bangkok, Thailand

And of course, Bangkok!
Unfortunately, still under the list of countries I've never been.
We had tickets booked for Thailand last year, but due to the political chaos, it was cancelled.

Bangkok is for sure one of the next few countries I reaaaally want to go.
Shopping, I heard, is absolutely brilliant.
The style is apparently up to date and reasonably priced.

And of course, I've recently fallen in love with Thai food.
Oh my, so so good.

5. London, UK

The accent, like wow it's alluring. haha.
I wanna experience a full on British accent in person and just be blown away.
Something about the view of the city is also very stunning.
Somehow historical, and yet beautiful in many ways.
I'm sure the architecture of the landscape gives off a dream-like feeling;

And of course, I'd love to shop in UK.
Almost similar to America, I think?
Just probably a more high end feel.

-

So that's 5 places I'd love to visit!
As you may be able to pin point, all 5 places I named were the capital of the countries.
I'm very much a city person, and the mission for holiday trips for me is pretty much shopping.

Like reasonable good shopping + yummy out of this world food = best holiday trip

Blog Challenge: Likes and Dislikes

Hello Marshmallowsssss :D

Truth be told, I like and dislike many things.
And since I've made a blogpost on 100 things I like
I'll try to think of 3 things I really really like, and 3 things I really dislike;
and elaborate on them :)

I like deep talks. I dislike (pointless, typical) small talk.

As much of an extrovert people think i am, I realized I tend to have preferences and habits regarding communication.
About a few days ago, a friend of mine said this.

"Hey Chelsea"
'Hey, yes?'
"Ermm i know you don't like this sort of thing like asking how you are and stuff
But is it ok to ask??"

And I kinda laughed. So I opened up to the conversation and said

'Haha :)
It's not that I don't like it
I just find small talk pointless
But once every now and then, should be fine.
Im okay :) And you?'

So truthfully, it's very rare to find me starting a conversation first.
Because I wouldn't unless I have a reason to.
And need I explain, if you've been in a heart to heart conversation with me,
I really like topics regarding relationship, values, finance, past experiences, beauty, fitness, things that make people generally better or worse, etc.
Pretty much topics that leave my heart thumping, mind thinking, ears open, eyes gazing and life-changing.

And I tend to not be so interested in conversations that end up with "I'm fine, and you?"
Or "nothing much, you?"

I like water, I dislike soft drinks.

A year+ ago at Lucy's Kitchen
If you've dined with me before, you'd know that I really love my water.
Like seriously, I really love water.
And as a kid, I've never been the type to indulge in junk foods; instead, I loved my carbs, meat and water.
And almost everywhere I go, I order water.
Most people think I'm healthy or just ordering it for the sake of thirst.
But I really do enjoy drinking water somehow. haha.
However, apart from water, I like Soyamilk, Green tea, and milkshakes!
OH, and at times, iced milo, honey green tea from yoyo or something like such.

BUT. It's very rare to find me ordering soft drinks.
Because I dislike the taste of coke, pepsi, Sprite, 100+, etc.
ESPECIALLY FANTA. yuck.

I like dancing!

Probably about 4 years ago with the girls at PCBC :)
Love Feast 1

3 years ago with a group of our youths! :D Performing Reconciliation

For Love Feast 2

About 1 year + ago with the girls at SIB Likas, for Powerhouse's 10th yr anniversary.

Sooooo I actually really like dancing!
I never really attended any dancing classes or what not..
But I admire girls who can dance, and I enjoy dancing!

My very first experiences of really dancing and performing, was when I was 12.
I performed with a small group of girls to the song Disturbia for our class assembly.
I was probably so clueless and all, but I really enjoyed it!
And when I was 13 and 14, I danced with a few other girls to the exact same song,
 but for different school events.

The other dance performances I participated in were in church.
The first one was for the first love feast I attended;
A group of us did a dance to a Christian song.

The second was for the second love feast;
It was like a dance-drama, which I really enjoyed!
I got the lead part, and it was a great experience.

And the last dance production I was in was the start of last year;
I did a hip-hop mix kinda dance with the C.A.T.S crew.
They were really talented, and like the others, I had fun!

So dancing isn't actually a talent/gift for me.
But probably a hidden passion? HAHA. I would like to learn HipHop after my exams though!
FunFact: I wanted to learn Ballet when I was younger but my parents didn't let me :(

I dislike sports with a lot of foot skills

As a kid, I was pretty active.
I loved to participate in activities and all.
And as a pre-teen, my favourite sports/activities to play were dodgeball, flags and basketball.
HAHA btw just because I liked basketball then, doesn't mean I was good at it ^.^'
I just liked it for the fun of it; but put me in a real game, and I'd probably hate it.

But as I grew older, I tend to lean towards sports which are more idk, passive?
So I enjoy badminton and captainball.

One sport I absolutely am sure I dislike is.. football.
I know, I'm sorry you soccer fans.
But I am definitely bad with my foot.
Like I've played futsal, I broke my toenail. AND I WAS WEARING SHOES T.T
And somehow, I really suck at kicking a ball with my foot.

I mean people say to kick it with like the sides of your foot or something,
but I feel more comfortable kicking with like the top of my foot.
And Idk, soccer just isn't for me I guess :X

I'm sorry, I couldn't find a photo with my vivid face. But this was my basketball team!

And the usual SIB LIKAS group for Captainball! About a year + ago! :)

And that sums up 3 likes and dislikes! :D
